Run Like The Wind 10K & Fun Run
The event takes place on Sunday 5 July 2026 on Walney Island, with the race headquarters at West Shore Bowling Club, Biggar Bank LA14 3YF, England. It features a measured road 10 km race and a separate one mile fun run for juniors.

The 10 km course is flat and runs along minor roads and a beach path. It begins at the Round House, follows closed roads towards the coast, joins the seafront path along Biggar Bank and the shoreline, and returns past the start to complete a second lap before finishing on the front by the West Shore Club. The route offers coastal views and passes near wind turbines. The course is open to the public in places; runners should be aware of traffic, cyclists and pedestrians and follow marshal instructions. In line with UKA rule 240 S5 the wearing of headphones or similar devices is not permitted.
Practical information includes chip timing with race numbers collected at registration on the day, toilets at the registration area, the football ground and the Round House, changing rooms at the football club and no baggage lockers. Parking is available at Walney School, Park Vale and on nearby streets; a small car park is reserved for officials and first aid only. There will be marshals at key points, two water stations on Thorny Nook Lane and Sandy Gap Lane, and first aid provision at the start/finish, Sand Gap and Biggar Village. Dogs and buggies are not permitted and the route is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Prizes are offered for the first three male and female finishers, age category winners including Vet 40 plus categories, and team prizes subject to correct club vests. Medals are awarded to all 10k finishers and fun run participants. Licence number 31110. Entry fees are detailed for affiliated and non affiliated runners, with a separate fee for the fun run.
