Run Like HECS - Halifax Early Childhood School fundraiser
Run Like HECS is the fourth annual event presented by Halifax Early Childhood School, a non-profit preschool. It takes place at Point Pleasant Park, in the lower parking lot by Black Rock Beach in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The event raises funds to support the school while offering a day of running and activities for families, competitive runners, and people of all ages.
The event includes these distances:
- 5 km run/walk timed event
- 1 km run/walk untimed event
- 400 m run/walk untimed event
The 5 km is a timed race and results will be posted online; prizes will be awarded to top finishers. Children's races include prize draws and cookie medals; the 400 m is untimed and all participants receive a cookie medal, and the top three in the 1 km will stand on a podium for a cookie medal. A bib pick-up option is available at the Running Room on Spring Garden Road in Halifax. The event is organized in support of the preschool and lists Running Room among its sponsors.
