Run Jax Labor Day 5K
The Run Jax Labor Day 5K is held on a certified, very fast course through the Beauclerc area of Jacksonville. The event is part of the Jacksonville Grand Prix series and awards points to finishers who place in the top ten of their age group toward the overall series totals. The series distributes over $5,000 in cash and prizes at its conclusion.
The event supports local programs and facilities. Funds are directed to high school cross country and track programs in Duval County, a summer camp scholarship program, and efforts to build and maintain a three-mile running and walking trail in Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road.
Race features listed by the organizer include finisher medals for all participants, moisture wicking unisex shirts, electrolyte popsicles, live results, an awards ceremony, and a post-race celebration. Prize money of $150, $100 and $50 is offered to the top three men and women overall. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers across multiple age brackets beginning at 10 and under and extending to 80 and over.
