Event Overview
The Run in the Yard Grafton 1/2 Marathon & 5K is a running event scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026. It takes place at the Grafton Correctional Institution (GCI) in Grafton, Ohio, entirely within the facility's secure perimeter.

The event offers two race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
Both races use a three-quarter-mile loop course inside the prison grounds. All proceeds support the Running2bwell training program, which operates at the facility. Participants run alongside residents enrolled in that program.
Participant Information
Registration is limited to the first 30 entrants for security and logistical reasons. All participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Runners will receive a custom t-shirt, though sizes are not guaranteed. There is a strict dress code for female runners, requiring sleeves on shirts, shorts to mid-thigh length, and no tight or form-fitting apparel. Sweatsuits are required for entry but can be removed for running.
Security procedures are stringent. Participants must arrive by 6:00 AM to clear security. A photo ID is required. Car keys must be locked in a provided locker. Permitted items are limited to water bottles, hats, and watches; phones, headphones, and similar items are not allowed. All participants are subject to search.
