Run in the Yard Grafton 1/2 Marathon & 5K

This running event takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Grafton, Ohio. It features two distances: a 5K and a Half Marathon. The entire course is run within the secure perimeter of the Grafton Correctional Institution, using a 3/4-mile loop.

All proceeds from the event support the Running2bwell training program, which operates at the facility. Participants will run alongside program participants. Runners receive a custom t-shirt, though sizes are not guaranteed.

The event has several specific rules due to its location. All participants must be 21 years of age or older. Registration is limited to the first 30 entrants for security and logistical reasons. Participants must arrive by 6:00 AM to clear security. A government-issued photo ID is required.

A strict dress code applies, especially for female runners. Shirts must have sleeves, shorts must be mid-thigh length, and sweatpants are required for entry but can be removed for running. Tight or form-fitting apparel is not permitted.

Participants may only bring water bottles, hats, and watches. Phones, headphones, and other personal items are prohibited. Car keys must be locked in a provided locker upon entry. All participants and items are subject to search. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
