Run for Your Life: 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run & Trick or Treat Trot
This event takes place on October 24, 2026 in Norman at Ruby Grant Park and the nearby trails. The program combines timed and untimed distance events with a separate youth trick or treat trot hosted by Norman Parks and Recreation.
Distances offered:
- 5K: timed road/trail run with a timing tag and custom race bib
- 1 Mile: untimed fun run or walk
- 1 Mile Trick or Treat Trot: open youth trick or treat event, not a race
Entry benefits for participants include a fun race medal, a custom race bib, a flashlight while supplies last, a custom water bottle sticker, and one beer ticket for entrants over 21. The 5K entry includes a timing tag and race timing. Entrants may add a custom long sleeve cotton t-shirt while supplies and sizes last. Race participant swag bags include a Norman Air coupon.
The 5K is adult themed and will include zombies, strobe lights, and fog machines. This portion of the event is not recommended for people with epilepsy, those with sensitivities to flashing lights, people with certain health conditions, or minors. Those with concerns may prefer the untimed 1 Mile event.
Packet pickup is offered at a Norman warehouse during race week and on site on race day. Charity partner information and volunteer opportunities will be provided by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
