Run for the Woods - Piscataway
The 20th annual Run for the Woods is a single-loop 5k held on the shaded dirt trails of the Rutgers Ecological Preserve on Livingston Campus in Piscataway, NJ. The course follows wooded trail paths inside the preserve and is organized to benefit forest restoration in the EcoPreserve and the Ecology and Evolution Graduate Student Association.
Registration details include an early fee of $26 and a race-day fee of $30. Registration opens April 1 and closes May 8; registering before April 18 guarantees a race t-shirt in the preferred size. Prizes are awarded to top male, female, and non-binary finishers, and age-group category winners receive native plants; some prizes include running shoes.
Packet pick-up is at RoadRunner Sports in North Brunswick. Parking at the race start is somewhat limited. Those with a Rutgers parking pass may use any Livingston lot for which they have access. Guests can register for a temporary parking pass to use Lots 103 and 101. The nearest restroom is located in the Livingston Recreation Center.
