Run for the Troops 5K
Run for the Troops 5K is a fundraising event held at Central Park, 36 Bartlet Street, Andover MA. The event supports veterans programs through its 2026 beneficiaries: Ironstone Farm, The Homeland Heroes Foundation, It Takes A Herd Foundation, Strongwater Farm, and Veterans Adaptive Sports & Training. Since its inception the event has raised more than $500,000; the 2026 fundraising goal is $50,000 and the organization has raised $27.48 toward that goal.
Event offerings for 2026 include multiple race options:
- 5K in-person race
- 5K virtual race via Kinomaps
- Forever Young Run for age 65 and over, distance 1/4 to 1 mile
- Kids Run for ages 13 and under, distance 1/4 to 1 mile
The virtual 5K uses Kinomaps and requires access to a smart treadmill, bike, or elliptical that connects to Kinomaps, plus the Kinomaps app; registered virtual participants receive a promo code by email. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The first 1,500 registrants who register by October 26, 2026 will receive a 2026 limited edition t-shirt. Teams are permitted; a qualified team is 20 or more participants. Team creation and team joins are not allowed after October 19, 2026. Team fundraising and team donations continue through November 3, 2026; individual donations are accepted through November 8, 2026.
