The 2026 Run for the Trees: Happy Little 5k is a live 5k held on April 18, 2026 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD (1100 E College Pkwy, GPS 39.016926, -76.398632). The live event is an extension of the national Bob Ross Happy Little Run for the Trees virtual 5K and offers a virtual race option for those who cannot attend in person. Points from this race count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and the Spring Series.
Details and race services
Registration for the 5k is listed at $52. Participants receive a technical (Drifit) event shirt, a finisher’s medal, a commemorative bib number and a sticker. The event is chip timed. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the event to check in. There will be no race day registration.
Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final race results with series points will be posted to the organizer’s website on the Monday after the race. One water station is planned along the 5k course at approximately mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are onsite in the park. Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in the age groups listed (19 & Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+).
