15th Annual Run For The Stripes
The Run For The Stripes is an annual running and walking event held at the Philadelphia Zoo. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for research into neuroendocrine (NET) cancers. Proceeds from the registrations are directed toward finding better treatment options and a cure for this rare cancer.
The event features several participation options:
- 5k Run
- 1 Mile Walk (Adult)
- 1 Mile Walk (12 and Under)
- Virtual Event
The in-person categories take place within the grounds of the Philadelphia Zoo. For those unable to attend in person, the virtual event allows participants to choose their own distance, day, and location. Each registrant receives a race t-shirt. For virtual participants, t-shirts are mailed approximately one week before the event date, provided the registration is completed by the early October deadline.
Event merchandise, such as hoodies and long-sleeve t-shirts, is available for purchase during the registration process or at the on-site store on the day of the event. Youth sizes for specific apparel items are offered through the online store only. The event also maintains a partnership with local supporters and organizations to facilitate the fundraising goals.
