Run for the Son: Faithful 5k and 10k
Brainerd Catholic hosts the 2nd annual Run for the Son: Faithful 5k and 10k at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd, Minnesota. The event features professionally timed races that use trails in Buffalo Hills Park and includes a youth 100 yard Disciple Dash held on the lawn near the finish area. Packet pickup is available for pre-registered participants and race day registration is offered.

Participant items and services include guaranteed shirts for those registered by September 13, with 5k and 10k participants receiving a Tultex 50/50 blend heather mint shirt and Disciple Dash participants receiving a Shadow Shifter color changing shirt. All 5k and 10k finishers receive a medal; Disciple Dash participants receive a ribbon. Awards include overall male and female winners for both the 10k and 5k, plus age group awards for the 5k in these categories: 15 and under; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over. The 10k does not offer age group awards.
On course support includes one water stop for the 5k and two for the 10k. Parking is available in St. Andrew's main lot; participants are asked to avoid parking on Willow Street. After the race, the Knights of Columbus provide a granola bar, water, and a banana; additional beverages will be available for purchase to benefit St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School.
