Run for the Son: Faithful 5k and 10k
Brainerd Catholic organizes the 2nd Annual Run for the Son: Faithful 5k and 10k, held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN, using the scenic Buffalo Hills Park trails. The event features professionally timed 5k and 10k road/trail races and a youth 100 yard Disciple Dash.

The Disciple Dash will be run in several heats, with groups determined by age, and will take place on the lawn near the finish area. All 5k and 10k finishers receive a medal; Disciple Dash participants receive a ribbon. Awards include overall male and female winners for both the 5k and 10k. The 5k also has age group awards in these categories: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. The 10k has no age group awards listed.
Shirt guarantee applies to participants registered by September 13th; 5k and 10k shirts are Tultex 50/50 heather mint and Disciple Dash shirts are Shadow Shifter color changing shirts. Parking is available in the church main lot; participants are asked not to park on Willow Street. There is one water stop on the 5k and two on the 10k. After the event, a granola bar, water, and banana are provided by the local Knights of Columbus. Additional beverages will be available for purchase to support St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School; cash is requested. A photo backdrop will be available near the finish area.
