Run for the Son-Faithful 5k & 10k
The Run for the Son-Faithful 5k & 10k is an annual community event hosted by Brainerd Catholic. The event takes place at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd, Minnesota, and utilizes the scenic trails of Buffalo Hills Park. The gathering serves as an opportunity to connect and build up the local Christian community while promoting a message of healing and hope.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 100 yard Disciple Dash
The 10 km and 5 km courses are professionally timed. For the younger participants, the Disciple Dash is a 100 yard run held on the lawn near the finish line, with heats organized by age group. Those who prefer not to run are welcome to walk the course or attend to support other participants.
The event provides specific amenities for registered athletes. There is one water station located along the 5 km route and two stations for the 10 km course. Post-race refreshments, including granola bars, bananas, and water, are provided by the local Knights of Columbus. Participants who register by the specified September deadline receive a commemorative shirt, and all finishers in the primary race distances receive a medal. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers in both distances, with additional age group awards specifically for the 5 km event.
