Run for the Son - Faithful 5k and 10k (Brainerd, MN)
Brainerd Catholic organizes the second annual Run for the Son: Faithful races at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The event features professionally timed road/trail courses using Buffalo Hills Park trails with start and finish at the church. A youth 100-yard Disciple Dash is held on the lawn near the finish line with several heats organized by age.

Race apparel and awards are specified in advance. Participants registered by September 13 are guaranteed a shirt; 5k and 10k runners receive a Tultex 50/50 heather mint shirt and Disciple Dash participants receive a Shadow Shifter color-changing shirt. All 5k and 10k finishers receive a medal. Disciple Dash participants receive a ribbon. Awards include overall male and female winners for both the 10k and 5k; the 5k also offers age-group awards (15 and under; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over). The 10k has no age-group awards.
Event logistics note parking in the church main lot and a request to avoid parking on Willow Street. There is one water station for the 5k and two for the 10k. Post-race refreshments provided by the local Knights of Columbus include a granola bar, water, and banana; additional beverages such as Bubblr and Gatorade are available for purchase to support St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School. The event is presented as part of a diocesan-wide appeal to share a message of healing, hope, and joy in Jesus and to connect Christians across the community.
