Event overview
The 5k for Mental Health Awareness is a community run and walk held April 25, 2026, in Brainerd, MN at Central Lakes College. The event is organized by Central Lakes College and Crow Wing Energized. Donations and a portion of the event proceeds will benefit Reel North Alliance at Pequot High School and RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) at Central Lakes College. The event is open to all ages. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted but are asked to start at the back of the field. The event is held rain or shine and registration fees are nonrefundable. Results and race photos are posted after the event.
Distances and participation rules

- 1 Mile Walk
Participants in the 5k are required to finish within 45 minutes; those who cannot meet that time are invited to join the 1 mile division. All participants receive a finisher sticker. Awards are given to the top male and female in each age group and to the overall nonbinary racer. Age groups are: 10 & under; 11-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 & over.
Packet pickup is available the day before and the morning of the event at Central Lakes College. Registration pricing varies by date and participant category, with student and youth rates and a no-shirt option available. Registration by mid April is required to be guaranteed a 2026 race shirt.
