Run for the Scrubs 5K: Backing Future Nurses takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville, TN (4901 Bradshaw Road, 37912). The event is a timed 5K run hosted by the Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. A virtual option is offered as "Virtual 5K – Supporting in Spirit (and in Sweatpants)." Registration is priced at $38.10 (includes a $3.10 fee) and closes on September 12, 2026. Strollers are welcome.

What is included and purpose
All participants registered by August 31 are guaranteed a unisex race t-shirt. The event provides post-race snacks, water, and Gatorade. Age group and overall awards will be presented at an awards ceremony. Professional race photos will be available for free download after the event. Finish times are provided via text alerts and the official results page; finisher certificates can be viewed and downloaded. Proceeds support nursing scholarships for students from Lincoln Memorial University, East Tennessee State University, Milligan University, King University, and Emory & Henry University.
