Run for the Red 10K
The event is a community road race hosted by the Norman Park Volunteer Fire Department. It offers three distances:
- 1 mile
- 5K
- 10K
Courses are accurately measured and will be professionally chip timed by Milestone Race Authority. The 10K follows a two-loop version of the 5K course. Race headquarters and the finish line are at the volunteer fire station at 160 E Broad St, Norman Park, GA, with packet pickup held at the fire station the day before the race.
Proceeds will go toward purchasing a new brush/rescue truck for wildland and brush fire response. The organizer notes a current drought emergency and states that the vehicle will be used for off-road and rugged terrain firefighting and rescue.
New for 2026 is a combined Challenge that adds the 1 mile plus either the 5K or the 10K time to determine men’s and women’s Challenge Champions. The 5K and 10K will award overall male and female winners and first place male and female in 10-year age groups from 9 and under to 70 and over.
Virtual participation is available; virtual runners may submit verified times through the event app or by email to the race timer and may choose to have shirts shipped. Runners entered by May 19, 2026 will receive a custom race shirt. Extra shirts may be distributed after the awards ceremony on a first come first served basis.
