Run for the Pies
Run for the Pies is a road race held in Downtown Jacksonville on June 13, 2026, with its venue at James Weldon Johnson Park on West Monroe Street. The event traces its origins to 1979 when it began as the Lakewood Twilight Run and adopted the Run for the Pies name in 1980. After the race there is a large block party in James Weldon Johnson Park.
The event features two separate 5K races and offers awards and race perks. Finishers receive custom designed Run for the Pies medals and Moon Pies are included in goodie packets. The Championship race includes prize money, and the Open 5K awards overall and age group places. Additional items noted for fast finishers include custom running hats and Moon Pies for males who finish under 22:00 and females who finish under 28:00.
Race proceeds support local youth and trail initiatives, including high school cross country and track programs in Duval County, a Summer Camp Scholarship Program, and local running trails. Donations to these causes are accepted through the event's donation channels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
