Run for the Pie 10K
The Run for the Pie is a 10K road race scheduled for July 18, 2026 at 14074 Hoovers Mill Rd, Rocky Ridge, Maryland 21778. Entry is free for Steeplechaser Running Club members who must bring a pie, either homemade or store bought. Members must hold an active membership on race day to receive the free entry.
Registration opens on May 1 and closes on race day. Race day registration is possible but must be completed online on a personal device because there are no paper forms or registration kiosks and cell service at the site is poor.
The course follows a paved, hilly country road in northern Frederick County. The course is marked, measured, and chip timed. Volunteers will scan bibs at the finish as a backup for missed chip reads. Aid is minimal: a single water station is on the route and is passed twice; that station may be self serve if no one is present. There is no formal traffic control on the course and traffic is described as very light. Participants run at their own risk, and the event is not intended for pre teen children to run without adult supervision.
Prizes are pies. Top men and top ladies choose their pie first and remaining finishers select pies in finish order. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
