Run for the Paws 5k in Winchester
The Run for the Paws 5k is an annual run and walk held in Winchester, Kentucky on May 16, 2026 at 1601 Mt. Sterling Road. The event supports the Clark County Animal Shelter by raising funds through entry fees and local sponsorship. Revenue from past events and sponsors has helped the shelter purchase supplies such as food, shelving, and cleaning materials.
There are two participation options for the 3.1 miles distance: an in person 5k run and walk and a virtual 5k option. The virtual option is a non competitive way to show support from any location; participants may walk or run the distance with a pet, family member, or alone and share photos on an event page.
All runners and walkers receive a unique 2026 race T shirt. Online registration opens March 1 and remains available through May 15 with no guarantee of a T shirt after April 30. Register by April 30 to guarantee a T shirt. Day of registration is available without a T shirt guarantee. Registration fees differ by option with an in person fee of $35 and a virtual fee of $25.
