Run for the Paws 5K, 5K Walk and 1 Mile Dog Walk : Dewey Beach
The event is the 18th Run for the Paws featuring a competitive 5K, a 5K walk, and a 1 mile dog walk. It takes place at the Dewey Beach Lions Club, 115 McKinley St, Dewey Beach, DE. Proceeds benefit Humane Animal Partners, which provides shelter and adoption services, low-cost spay and neuter programs, and low-cost wellness services.
Distances offered:
- 5K run (3.11 miles USATF certified)
- 5K walk (3.11 miles)
- 1 mile dog walk
The 5K is described as a flat course through the Seabreeze Development and is USATF certified. Timing uses the Chronotrack B Chip system. Dogs are permitted in the walk events but are not allowed in the run portion. Packet pickup will be held at the Dewey Lions Club on Dagsworthy Street on Friday July 31 from 6 to 8 pm, and parking passes will be distributed at pickup.
Registration is available online or by mail with tiered fees: early registration, pre registration, and last chance race day pricing. Participants registered by Monday July 27 are guaranteed a custom beach towel; later registrations receive towels on a first come basis.
