Run for the House : East Lansing
Run for the House is a community running event that starts and finishes at the MSU Federal Credit Union Headquarters in East Lansing, MI. The event program includes multiple participation options:
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run
- 10K Ruck following the 10K course
- Kids One Mile Fun Run and Sprint for ages 12 and under
- Virtual Race Pick Your Pace, held April 17 to April 19, 2026
The 5K course uses sidewalks on West Road and paved trails across the MSUFCU campus. The 10K is a two-loop version of the 5K course with route differences marked by signs and volunteers. The Michigan Running Foundation will provide chip timing for the 5K, 10K and the 10K Ruck. The Ruck requires participants to supply their own weighted vest or backpack and has a two hour course limit. Children's events include a very short sprint and a one-mile fun run; pacers will run with children to help keep them on course and kids registered may enter both races.
Virtual participants may complete their distance anywhere and may order a race packet, but packets and shirts must be picked up in person. Event parking is organized with signage to a north lot near the start and finish. Bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not allowed on race courses except for designated volunteer course leaders. Dogs are permitted on campus when leashed and able to tolerate event conditions; those running or walking with a dog are asked to start at the back of the field.
