Event overview
Run for the House takes place on April 19, 2026 in East Lansing, Michigan. The event starts and finishes at MSU Federal Credit Union Headquarters, 3899 Coolidge Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823. Organized event options include:
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run
- Kids One Mile fun run and sprint (ages 12 and under)
- 10K Ruck (participants provide their own weighted vest or backpack)
- Virtual Race - Pick Your Pace
The 5K and 10K courses run along MSUFCU campus and onto West Road. The 10K is a double loop of the 5K course with some course differences. The Michigan Running Foundation will chip time the 5K, 10K and the 10K Ruck. The Ruck has a two hour course limit. Virtual participants may complete their chosen distance between April 17 and April 19, 2026; awards are not available for virtual entries.
Logistics and notes
Packet pickup is available pre-race at Playmakers in Okemos and on race day at the MSUFCU registration table. Virtual participants may order a packet or long-sleeved shirt but items must be picked up in person; shirts will not be mailed. Parking is available with the north lot closest to the start and finish. Bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not allowed on course except for volunteer course leaders or sweepers from Mountain Bike Michigan. Dogs are permitted on MSUFCU campus if leashed per City of East Lansing rules and able to handle event activity; dog walkers are asked to start at the back of the group.
