Run for the House
The Run for the House is a community event held in East Lansing that supports the Ronald McDonald House Mid-Michigan. The event features a variety of courses that start and finish at the MSU Federal Credit Union Headquarters campus. The available distances and event formats include:
- 10 km Run
- 10 km Ruck
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run
- Kids Sprint (very short distance)
- Virtual Race (Pick Your Pace)
The 5 km course leads participants onto West Road and through the paved paths of the MSUFCU campus. The 10 km course consists of a double loop of the 5 km route. For those participating in the 10 km Ruck, the event follows the standard 10 km course, and participants are required to provide their own weighted vests or backpacks. Both the 5 km and 10 km races are chip timed.
Younger participants aged 12 and under can take part in the Kids One Mile Fun Run and Sprint. The Sprint is a very short distance designed for the youngest runners, while the Fun Run is a mile long and features pacers to help children stay on the path. A special Kids Zone area is also available for families.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual "Pick Your Pace" option is available. Participants can complete their chosen distance between April 17 and April 19 at any location. Local government health guidelines are followed for the organization of this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
