Run for the Frontline
Run for the Frontline is a timed community race at Canatara Beach & Park in Sarnia that honors and supports First Responders and Frontline Workers. The event offers several participation options:
- 1 km fun run for children 12 and under, free and not timed.
- 5 km scenic run/walk through and around Canatara Park, starting and finishing on the park loop.
- 10 km scenic run/walk that includes the 5 km scenic sections.
Proceeds from the 2026 edition will go to Boots on the Ground. Past beneficiaries include Project Mental Wellness and Three Oaks Cabin in 2024 and Boots on the Ground (Ontario) in 2025.
The GUARDIAN CUP is a team challenge limited to the 5 km distance. Teams of four register a team name; each member's finish time is recorded and the average of the four times determines the winner. Team members do not need to run together. Winning team names will be added to the trophy. Participants in the 5 km and 10 km receive a finisher challenge coin and a limited edition t-shirt; children in the 1 km receive a challenge coin.
Walking is permitted. Service animals and dogs are welcome. Strollers and wagons are allowed. Race kit pickup is scheduled in the days before the event and on the morning of the event at 546 Christina Street N, unit 401A; timing chips must be collected on race morning. Event-day offerings include vendors, snacks, coffee, and activities for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
