Run for the Frontline
Run for the Frontline takes place in Canatara Park, starting and ending at the Terry Fox loop. The event honours and supports first responders and frontline workers in the community and is also open to non-frontline participants who wish to join.
The event offers timed distances and a non-timed children’s run. Proceeds will go to a charity to be determined; past recipients include Project Mental Wellness, Three Oaks Cabin, and Boots on the Ground Ontario.
Distances:
- 1 KM Fun Run for kids: Free, not timed, one lap of the Terry Fox Loop.
- 5 KM run/walk: Timed, scenic route through and around Canatara Park.
- 10 KM run: Timed, includes the scenic 5 KM route plus additional sections.
The Guardian Cup team challenge is for teams of four on the 5 KM. Each team’s four finish times are combined and averaged to determine the fastest team; winning team names will be added to the trophy. Participants in the 5 KM and 10 KM will receive finishers medals and limited edition t-shirts. Walking is allowed and service animals and dogs are welcome. The 1 KM for children is free for those 12 and under and includes participation ribbons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
