Run for the Frontline
Run for the Frontline takes place at Canatara Beach & Park, Lake Chipican Drive, Sarnia, ON, Canada on October 4, 2026. The event is a timed road and park run held on a course that starts and ends at the Terry Fox loop and follows a scenic route through Canatara Park.
The event honours and supports First Responders and frontline workers in the community. Examples of eligible frontline and support roles include police, fire, paramedics, corrections and border services, dispatch and telecommunications, military and veterans, social workers, nurses and doctors, child protection workers, personal support workers, tow truck drivers and others who support or help others. Proceeds from this edition will go to Boots on the Ground for 2026; previous beneficiaries include Project Mental Wellness and Three Oaks Cabin in 2024 and Boots on the Ground Ontario in 2025.
Two additions are noted for this year: a 10 KM distance that includes the scenic sections of the 5 KM route, and the GUARDIAN CUP team challenge for teams of four on the 5 KM course. For the Guardian Cup each team of four registers under a team name, all four finish times are added and the average time determines the trophy winner; team names will be added to the trophy. Team members do not need to run together.
Other event details: a 1 KM fun run for children 12 and under is offered free and is not timed. Walking is permitted. Service animals and dogs are allowed, and strollers and wagons are permitted. Race kit and race chip pick up are available in the days before the event and on the morning of the event; all participants must collect their race chip on the morning of the event.
