About Run for the Frontline
Run for the Frontline is a timed racing event held in Sarnia, Ontario, at Canatara Beach & Park. The course features a scenic route that starts and finishes at the Terry Fox loop. The event is designed to honor and support first responders and frontline workers, though it is open to all members of the community regardless of professional background or running experience.
Participants can select from the following distances:
- 10 km: A timed run through Canatara Park and the surrounding local area.
- 5 km: A timed run or walk through the park setting.
- 1 km Fun Run: A free, untimed event for children aged 12 and under, consisting of one lap around the Terry Fox loop.
The event includes a team challenge known as the Guardian Cup, specifically available for the 5 km distance. Teams of four compete for a trophy and a place on the winner's plaque, with results determined by the average finish time of all four members.
Walking is permitted for those who do not wish to run, and service animals and dogs are welcome to participate. Participants in the 5 km and 10 km categories receive a finishers medal and a limited edition t-shirt, while children in the 1 km run receive participation ribbons. Proceeds from the event are donated to charitable organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
