Run For The Animals 5K Fundraiser
Run For The Animals is a 5K fundraiser that benefits the Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The event starts and finishes at the Cohanzick Zoo and is presented as a family friendly run and walk to support the zoo and its programs.
Parking for the event is at Bridgeton High School with a short walk to the zoo side entrance. Restrooms will be available at the zoo and at the nearby splash pad. Mayor Aitken Drive will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.
Packet pickup is available on race morning at the zoo parking lot. Race shirts are offered free to participants who register before 9/12/2026; after that date shirts are distributed on a first come, first served basis. The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine.
Leashed, well behaved dogs may join participants along the exterior perimeter and on the race path; dogs are not permitted inside the zoo grounds. Awards will be presented to the top three female and top three male finishers, and a new award will recognize the top three finishers in the 17 and under age group.
The Cohanzick Zoo is a free, small zoo established in 1934, located on about 15 acres within the city park and home to nearly 100 animals representing more than 45 species, including Bengal tigers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
