Run for the Animals
Run for the Animals is a family-friendly fundraiser for the Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The event starts and finishes at the Cohanzick Zoo, 35 Mayor Aitken Drive. Parking is provided at Bridgeton High School with a short walk from the school side entrance to the zoo. Bathrooms are available inside the zoo and at the splash pad. Mayor Aitken Drive will be closed to traffic during the event.
The Cohanzick Zoo opened in 1934 as New Jersey's first zoo. The facility houses nearly 100 animals representing more than 45 species and occupies about 15 acres within Bridgeton's 1,100-acre park.
Race-day services include packet pick up at the starting area. Race shirts are provided free to those who register before 9/12/2026; after that date shirts are available on a first come, first served basis. Registration is open from 1/19/2026 through 9/26/2026 and the registration fee is $35.

Leashed, friendly dogs may join participants on the exterior race path but are not permitted inside the zoo. Awards will be given to the top three female finishers, the top three male finishers, and the top three finishers in the 17 and under age group. The event will take place rain or shine.
