Run for the Angels Memorial Run and Family Day
Run for the Angels is a community memorial run and family day held at Riverstone Park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on October 4, 2026. The event honors babies and children who died suddenly and unexpectedly and raises awareness of pregnancy, infant, and child death. Proceeds support the emotional support programs of the Northwest Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance.
The program includes community booths, a memory making station where participants can create luminaries, paint memory rocks, or design buttons, and an in-person silent auction. A remembrance ceremony is held at the park amphitheater; the ceremony is also streamed live on Facebook. The event features a scenic 2.5 miles course along the Centennial Trail with views of the Spokane River. Strollers and bicycles are allowed on the course. More than 130 memorial signs line the route, each honoring a child.
Runner registration and packet pick-up occur at Riverstone Park on the day of the event; participants receive shirts and race bags there. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine; if hazardous conditions force cancellation, registration fees will be considered donations to NISSA and no refunds will be issued.
