The Run for Roses is a women-only running event held at Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, Maryland. The primary event is a 5K race that belongs to the Maryland RRCA Women's Distance Festival Series. The course is situated within the park grounds at 2000 Shorefield Road.
In addition to the main race, the event includes a specific activity for younger participants:
- 1/4 Mile Youth Run
The Youth Run is a non-timed event where participants do not use timing chips. While there is no cost for the youth race, registration by a parent or guardian is required before the day of the event. Parents or guardians are permitted to accompany their children during the run without individual registration for themselves.
The event is organized by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC). Verified members of this organization receive a discount on the registration fee for the 5K race. All participants in the primary race are subject to a registration fee, while the youth distance is provided at no cost to both members and non-members.
