Run for Roots: Heard It Through the Grapevine - Fresno
Run for Roots: Heard It Through the Grapevine is the second annual community run produced by Highway City Community Development (HCCD) in West Fresno. The event takes place at Kearney Park, 6725 W Kearney Blvd, Fresno, CA 93706, and highlights local agriculture and a piece of Fresno history.
The event program includes multiple participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual Run
Participants are encouraged to wear raisin-themed costumes or dress as "Raisin Eaters," a reference to an early Fresno baseball team. The course is located near vineyards at Kearney Park. The event is pet friendly; dogs must be leashed and runners should be mindful of others.
All participants receive a race shirt (guaranteed if registered before March 15), a finishers medal, breakfast items, and a swag bag. Packet pickup is available at the Teague Community Resource Center (4718 N Polk Ave) and also near the race start on the morning of the event. Awards include age-group placements for first and second place by gender, overall winners trophies, and a Best Costume Award tied to the event theme.
