Run For R.O.A.R.
The event is a 5K running race on an out and back course in Russell, Pennsylvania. The route starts on Main Street near the Russell Church parking lot, proceeds along Old Route 62, turns onto Woodland Drive and Williams Street, continues onto Pine Grove Boulevard through the Green Briar Circle loop, and returns the same way. The finish route loops by the post office on Conewango Street and concludes with a straight run onto East St.
The course features a modest uphill section on the outbound leg and a downhill return. Parking is available at the Russell Volunteer Fire Department at 111 Perrigo Lane, Russell, PA 16345. The registration fee for the 5K is $20.00.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top finisher in each male and female age group. Age groups are 1-12, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
After the race, snacks and drinks are provided including water, chocolate milk, oranges, and bananas. Coffee, bottled water, cookies, and donuts are available for purchase.
