Event Overview
The Run for Responders 5K and 1-Mile is a community running event. It is organized to support local first responders in Oconee County. This year marks the 9th annual event.
Distances and Pricing
The event offers three race categories:
- 1-Mile Fun Run ($15)
- 5K Run/Walk ($35)
- 5K First Responder Run/Walk ($15)
Event Details
The event takes place at Oconee Veterans Park, located at 3500 Hog Mountain Road in Watkinsville, Georgia. The race course is run completely on a running path around the perimeter of the park. Finishline management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services, and the event is a member of the Black Bag Race Series.
Race Day Schedule
A schedule for race day includes registration and packet pickup starting at 12:30 PM, a Kid Zone from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Fun Run at 1:30 PM, the main 5K at 2:00 PM, and an awards ceremony at 3:00 PM. The policy states the event will proceed in rain with possible delays.
Awards
Awards are presented to Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and across ten-year age groups from 10 and Under to 80 and Over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
