Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K, Durham NC
The 12th Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K takes place in Durham, North Carolina on October 3, 2026. The event is held at the American Tobacco Trail, 8160 Renaissance Parkway, and proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides support, education and advocacy for people living with an ostomy or continent diversion.
Event options include a 5K run/walk and a short kids race for young children. Registration opens April 27, 2026. For the 5K events registration closes July 24, 2026; kids registration closes October 3, 2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $38.00 for the 5K entry categories and $25.00 for the kids dash.
Organizers plan prizes for top overall male and female finishers, top male and female in each age group, and top male and female ostomates. Registration bags will include race materials, ostomy education items, and an ostomy pouch provided by sponsors; non-ostomate participants are encouraged to wear a pouch to raise awareness. Packet pickup and the full race day schedule are to be announced.
Fundraising options are available. A participant who raises $150 or more may receive a refund of the registration fee. Fundraising incentive levels include Empower at $250 and Champion at $450, with Champion receiving the Empower award as well. A referral program and optional registration protection are also offered.
