Run For Rangers Dahlonega
Run For Rangers Dahlonega is a two-day running event on November 14–15, 2026, held in Dahlonega, GA with activities at Hancock Park and Camp Merrill. The program includes timed races, multi-race challenge options, and divisions reserved for Army Rangers.
Events:
- 5K timed race with age and gender categories.
- 10K timed race with age and gender categories.
- Half Marathon on forestry and service roads near the Appalachian Trail.
- Mountain Challenge (5K or 10K plus Half Marathon).
- Ranger Challenge Relay Half Marathon two-person teams only for Army Rangers.
- 10K Ranger Challenge Army Rangers only.
- Half Marathon Ranger Challenge Army Rangers only.
The half marathon course uses off-pavement service roads through the Appalachian Mountains, runs close to the Appalachian Trail, and starts and finishes on the airfield at Camp Merrill; it includes two notable hills. Awards are given for overall and masters male/female and for age-group places in each race; top overall winners receive a custom crafted Ranger plaque. Surrounding weekend activities include a Veterans Day parade, a kids play area, and an all-day music festival with food and beverage options in historic downtown Dahlonega. Parking is described as abundant. Pre-registration is strongly requested and walk-up registrants may not be guaranteed event shirts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
