Run for Nature at Chester Zoo : September 20, 2026
Run for Nature at Chester Zoo is a charity running event held at Chester Zoo, Upton by Chester (CH2 1EU), raising funds for tiger conservation and the Living with Tigers project in Nepal. The event offers race distances that start in the zoo and continue on nearby country lanes, with an extended section through the zoo itself.
Distances
- 10K race (minimum age 16)
- 5K race (minimum age 11)
- Kids 1 Mile Zoom for 4–15 year olds
Entry includes admission to the zoo on the event day for participants who show their race medal. All participants receive a Run for Nature 2026 medal. Participants who raise over £65 receive a cuddly tiger plush toy; there are prizes for the top three individual fundraisers, including a family membership. Members of Chester Zoo are offered discount codes.
Practical arrangements noted by the organiser include free onsite parking in the main car park adjacent to the event village (many spaces are on grass), a small bag drop (left at owner’s risk), toilets and food and drink options in the event village and zoo, and water refill points along the route and in the village with a policy to avoid single-use plastic bottles. The 10K and 5K races will have time tracking; the Kids 1 Mile Zoom will not. Wheelchair users and suitable running buggies are permitted on the route.
