Run for Heroes Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K
The Run for Heroes is a running event hosted by Revive Vienna in Vienna, Illinois. The event features several race distances utilizing the Tunnel Hill Trail, with all courses designed as out-and-back routes starting and finishing near the trail office.
The available distances include:
- Half Marathon (21.1 km or 13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.24 miles)
- 5K (3.12 miles)
- Kids' Fun Run
The courses are clearly marked with pins and mile markers, including specific U-turn points for each distance. Competitive timing is provided for all distances; however, participants have the option to complete the course at their own pace. A SAG station offering drinks and snacks, along with a SAG driver, is available for participant support during the event.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top finishers in age groups ranging from 1-19 up to 60-99 for the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. Finisher medals are specifically awarded to all participants who complete the Half Marathon. Early packet pickup is available at the Forman Depot Museum, located at 298 East Vine Street.
The festivities in Vienna City Park include music provided by the Vienna High School Tech Team and various food and beverage vendors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
