Event Overview
The Run for Heroes Half Marathon takes place on a Saturday in May at Vienna City Park on the Tunnel Hill Trail in Vienna, Illinois. The event features multiple race distances, a free kids run, and is part of a larger community day that includes a separate cycling event.
Race Details
The event offers four participant categories:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.24 miles)
- 5K (3.12 miles)
- FREE Kids Run
All running courses are out-and-back routes on the Tunnel Hill Trail, starting and finishing near the trail office. The kids run is free and open to children aged 1-12. Professional race timing is provided by To The Finish timing.
Awards and Amenities
Awards are given for each race (5K, 10K, and Half Marathon), including overall male and female winners, as well as age group winners (1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-99). Finishers of the Half Marathon receive a commemorative medal. A support station (SAG) with drinks and snacks, plus a SAG driver, will be available during the run.
Additional Information
