Run For Her Life, Newton, Iowa
Run For Her Life is the sixth annual edition of a combined virtual and in person running event held in Newton, Iowa on April 25, 2026. The event program includes multiple distances and a kid focused race.
The race offers these distances:
- 5K in person and virtual
- 13.1 Miles half marathon in person and virtual
- 0.4 Miles kid fun run in person
The event benefits the Phoenix Phase Initiative, an Iowa based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports women who have been sexually trafficked. The organization provides a place for acceptance, counseling, job skill training, and support for women and their children.
Virtual entries take place from April 25 to May 25 and may be completed at any point during that timeframe. Confirmation of a virtual run is not required; virtual participants will receive the event medal, shirt, and bag as described by the organizer.
The in person event includes live music, a complimentary beer from Gezellig Brewing Company or a craft soda option, and a food truck. To be guaranteed a shirt the day of the run, registration must be completed by April 6, 2026; entries after that date will receive shirts made after April 25 and distributed later.
The course is open. Police and volunteers will be present to direct traffic at major intersections and participants are expected to follow all traffic laws. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
