Event Overview
The Iowa Brewery Running Series presents a fun run at Gezellig Brewing Co in Newton, Iowa. This untimed event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. The course covers a distance of approximately 5 km (5K-ish) and is hosted on an open course, meaning participants move along public roads and are responsible for following all traffic laws.
The route starts and ends at the Gezellig Brewing Co taproom. The course is designed to feature the local scenery of Newton, including city views and parks. It also includes one significant hill. Because the run is untimed, participants are free to run, walk, or jog at their own pace.
Participation Details
Registration for this event is limited to accommodate the capacity of the brewery taproom. The run takes place rain or shine. While the event is open to all ages, participants must provide a valid ID to consume alcoholic beverages. Underage participants or those choosing not to drink alcohol will receive a token for a non-alcoholic beverage.
Each registered participant receives:
- One Hug Deal Lager or a non-alcoholic beverage
- A collector's pint glass or a series swag item
- Access to festivities which may include live music and games
A portion of the proceeds from the event supports the Newton Arboretum. Participants are responsible for their own safety and must remain aware of their surroundings on the public course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
