Prairie Burn 100 - Grinnell, Iowa
The Prairie Burn 100 is an annual gravel bike ride and music festival held the first weekend of June in Grinnell, Iowa. The event includes both gravel cycling routes and community fun runs, and proceeds support Imagine Grinnell, a local non-profit that funds programs for a healthy and sustainable community.
The event offers chip timing with competitive options, plus family-friendly features such as a beer garden, live music, and food trucks. A 3K fun run was added in 2025 alongside an existing 5K route; both routes travel through the Grinnell community and return to the event area.
Organizers also run year-round community rides in Grinnell. Weekly no-drop rides occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a range of routes; examples include 20-25 mile Tuesday routes year-round and 10-15 mile Thursday routes from April through October. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome, and gravel bike rentals are available through the local bike shop.
