Event Overview
The Run for Heart Warriors 5k is a community event held in Ballwin, Missouri, dedicated to supporting children and families affected by Pediatric Heart Disease. All proceeds from the race are donated to the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation. The event features two primary participation options:
- 5k (In-person)
- Virtual Run for Heart Warriors 5k
The in-person 5k takes place on the trails of Queeny Park. The course consists primarily of gravel surfaces and is open to both runners and walkers. For those participating in the in-person race, results are tracked using chip timing. Participants in the virtual event have the option to upload their individual results to the event website.
Race Day Experience
The event site at Queeny Park is located near a newly renovated playground. The morning includes various trackside amenities, such as music provided by a DJ and an appearance by Louie, the St. Louis Blues mascot. Refreshments are available through a coffee truck, and post-race snacks are provided to participants, including pretzels and other items from local sponsors.
Awards and Categories
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the in-person race. Top finisher awards are also given to the first two participants in several age divisions, ranging from age 12 and under to 70 and over. Registrants can submit a photo of a "Heart Warrior" to be featured on a commemorative banner displayed during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
