Event Overview

The Hanover Education Foundation's Run for Health takes place in Whippany, featuring a timed road race and a community walk. The event starts and finishes at Whippany Park High School, utilizing the school's facilities for logistics. Participants can choose between two primary distances:

  • 5K Run for Health (3.1 miles)
  • One-Mile Fun-Walk

The 5K course is a USATF-sanctioned route that guides runners through the neighboring residential areas. To support participants during the race, water stations and timers are positioned along the route. The One-Mile Fun-Walk follows a shorter path, with walkers beginning and ending at the official 5K finish line.

Participant Information

The event provides music and refreshments for attendees both before and after the activities. Parking is accessible in the Whippany Park High School lots and on the surrounding streets. Participants who register by the end of April are guaranteed an event t-shirt in their selected size, while shirts for later registrants are subject to availability.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, the event recognizes high performers in 18 different age categories ranging from 10 and under to over 90 years old, with medals awarded to the top three in each group. The current course record for the 5K stands at 17:13.3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
