Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run
Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run is a fundraising road race supporting The Bridge 2 Home, a nonprofit in Aiken, South Carolina that provides housing and services for girls who have been victims of sex trafficking. The event is based at the Odell Weeks Activity Center (Virginia Acres Park), 1700 Whiskey Rd, Aiken SC 29803.

Registration opens May 31, 2026. Early-bird registration runs through October 4, 2026 at a fee of $38; the fee increases to $43 after that date. The 1 mile event is free and has a separate registration window that closes on October 17, 2026.
The 5K course runs on paved neighborhood streets behind the park and is described as mostly flat. A water station is located at the 1.5 mile mark. Strollers, wheelchairs, and friendly pets are permitted; bicycles and skates are not allowed. Organizers provide music, games, snacks, and water for participants and spectators at no charge.
Awards for the 5K include first place prizes and ribbons for second and third in these age categories: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and up. A team fundraising prize is offered to the group that raises the most funds. Volunteers and public safety staff are stationed along the course.
