About the race
Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run is a fundraising running event held at Odell Weeks Activity Center (Virginia Acres Park) in Aiken, SC. The event supports The Bridge 2 Home, a non-profit that provides housing and services for girls who have been victims of sex trafficking.
The event program includes:
- 5K on paved neighborhood streets, mostly flat.
- 1 mile fun run for children age 9 and under.
Early-bird registration pricing ends 10/4/2026; early-bird registrants for the 5K are guaranteed a t-shirt at that price. The 5K early-bird fee is $38, increasing to $43 after 10/4/2026. The 1 mile fun run is free for children age 9 and under, and registering by the early-bird end date can secure a participation t-shirt.
Race services and rules described by the organizer include a water station at the 1.5 mile mark, volunteers and public safety staff positioned along the course, and provisions for strollers, wheelchairs, and friendly pets with the request that they line up at the back of the starting area. Bicycles and skates are not permitted. Prizes are awarded in age categories for men and women with ribbons for second and third places; overall top finishers receive donated prizes. Teams may form to fundraise, and the team that raises the most receives a team prize.
