Run for Dunn : Boise
Run for Dunn is an annual community fun run and walk held in Boise to promote melanoma awareness and sun safety. The event features an approximately 3.1 mile route that follows the Boise Greenbelt and begins and ends near the shelter at Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park, 500 S Walnut St, Boise, ID.
The event grew from a local support and fundraising effort started in 2011 to help a person facing Stage IV melanoma. It now focuses on awareness, prevention, and early detection. Organizers partner with Mountain Pine Dermatology and St. Luke’s Cancer Institute to provide free skin cancer screenings to registered participants.
Registered participants receive a Run for Dunn t-shirt and lunch. Virtual participants and those unable to attend in person will have shirts mailed or arranged for post-event pick-up. Packet pick-up and on-site skin screenings are available on race day.
Registration information notes that signing up by May 11 guarantees t-shirt sizes; registration remains open after that date and walk-up entries are accepted, though shirt sizing cannot be guaranteed. The event includes a post-race gathering with lunch and cake to mark the honoree’s 43rd birthday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
