Run for BCAWS!
Run for BCAWS takes place on 06/13/2026 in Alcoa, Tennessee at 725 Universal Dr. The event offers separate footrace options for people and a pet friendly mile for dogs and their owners.
- Humans only 5K
- Dogs Gone Wild one mile
The 5K course starts and finishes at the Alcoa Public Works & Engineering Building near the Springbrook Pool and Alcoa Elementary School. The 5K is an out-and-back route using local roads and the Alcoa/Maryville Greenway system. The one mile course uses similar roads and pathways and will not interrupt 5K foot traffic. Dogs are allowed only in the one mile event.
Registration opens 10/27/2025 and closes 06/12/2026. Registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $20 for the one mile event. All 5K runners receive an event T-shirt; shirt size cutoff is 06/01/2026. Top three male and female 5K finishers will be recognized and age group awards are given in roughly 10 year increments (<10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+). Dogs in the mile receive a treat at the finish.
Restrooms are available at the start and finish area only. An aid water station is provided at the turnaround point. Parking is at the event address. Proceeds benefit the Blount County Animal Welfare Society, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports pet retention, veterinary care, spay and neuter programs, building and distributing dog houses, fencing and kennels, and rehoming services.
