About the race
Run for Autism is the 6th annual community awareness and acceptance event presented by Arizona Autism United, held on February 27, 2027 at Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Rd., Chandler, AZ 85286. The event benefits Arizona Autism United, an organization that has provided services to local families living with autism and other developmental disabilities since 2006. The event notes a reported rate of 1 in 31 U.S. children diagnosed with autism.
Participants can choose among several formats:
- 5K race
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- Virtual Run completed from any location
Participants receive a custom dri-fit event t-shirt, a race bib with a timing chip, a finisher's medal, and a light runner's brunch. Chip timing and course management are provided by Mangled Momentum. Awards are presented to overall winners and to top finishers in male and female age groups including 9 & Under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
The event schedule includes check-in, vendors and lawn games, a group warm-up and opening remarks, and an awards ceremony. Virtual entrants receive event shirts and finisher medals; virtual race packets are mailed prior to the event. Proceeds support programs and services for Arizona families in need.
