Run For 21
The Run For 21 is a running event taking place in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Organized by the Gateway Down Syndrome Association, the race is held in honor of the third copy of the twenty-first chromosome. Both in-person and virtual participation options are available for participants.
The in-person run starts and ends in the Upper Muny Parking Lot located in Forest Park. This event coincides with Step Up for Down Syndrome, which is the association's largest annual celebration. The course distance for the run is a 5K plus a little extra, while the virtual option is specified as 3.21 miles.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Gateway Down Syndrome Association. Registered participants receive several amenities as part of their entry:
- A race shirt and a finisher medal.
- Entry into the Step Up for Down Syndrome celebration.
- A ticket for an unlimited pancake breakfast provided by Chris Cakes.
- Race results managed by Start2Finish.
For those choosing the virtual format, there is an option to have the shirt and medal mailed for an additional fee. Shirts and medals are guaranteed for those who register by the April 24th deadline.
