About the race
The event on 8 November 2026 is a 5 Miles forest run at Hamsterley Forest, with the route starting and finishing at the Nest Car Park near the middle of the Forest Drive. The course includes steady climbs near the turnaround and a return section that is largely flat or downhill. The surface is multi terrain and the route is traffic free within the forest.
Chip timing is used on an accurately measured route and all finishers receive a bespoke medal. An optional race T shirt is available for an extra cost. Distance markers are provided every mile and there is a water station at 3 miles. First aid, changing facilities, toilets, bag drop and refreshments are available at Race HQ.
Entry is open with an entry limit of 200. Fees are £17 for affiliated runners and £19 for unaffiliated runners. Entries close on 2 November 2026 and entries on the day are available at Race HQ. Minimum age is 15. Timing is provided by Timing4Sport.
Parking on the Forest Drive normally carries a charge (typically £3 per car, £5 on bank holiday weekends; minibuses £8, coaches £12) and there is no charge for visitors on foot.
