Run Durham Hamsterley Remembrance Day 5 Miler
The Run Durham Hamsterley Remembrance Day 5 Miler takes place on 8th November 2026 at Hamsterley Forest, County Durham. The event is a 5 mile out and back course that starts and finishes at the Nest Car Park near the middle of the Hamsterley Forest Drive. The route is multi terrain and traffic free, with steady climbs approaching the turn and a largely flatter, downhill return. Distance markers appear every mile and there is a water station around 3 miles.
The course is accurately measured and chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and there is an optional race T shirt available for an extra cost. Entry is limited to 200 places, minimum age to participate is 15 years, and entry fees are listed at £17 for affiliated runners and £19 for unaffiliated runners; entries close on 2nd November 2026.
Event facilities at the race headquarters include registration, bag drop, toilets, changing areas, first aid and refreshments. Parking is in the Nest Car Park and the entry fee includes a race discount code for reduced parking charges on the Forest Drive. Prizes include overall trophies and vouchers for the top three men and women, age group awards in five year bands where qualifying numbers are met, and team prizes for affiliated clubs.
