Run Dorney Lake
The Run Dorney Lake event takes place at the purpose-built rowing lake near the village of Dorney in Buckinghamshire. This venue served as the home for rowing events during the London 2012 Olympics. The race follows a flat road course around the lake and its grounds, providing a setting for runners to pursue personal best times.
Participants can choose from three different race distances:
- Half Marathon: A road course with four laps plus a U-turn each lap, totaling 27m elevation.
- 10k: A road course consisting of two laps with a total elevation of 15m.
- 5k: A single lap road course with a total elevation of 8m.
The event utilizes chip-timing for all distances. The site features an event village with various food and drink options, and marshals are stationed along the route to guide runners. Every participant receives a unique themed medal, free race photos, and post-race goodies at the finish line. The organizers emphasize sustainability as a primary consideration for the event operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
