Event Overview

Run Bolton Abbey is a trail running event that takes place on the Bolton Abbey Estate in North Yorkshire. The event raises funds for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

Distances

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
  • 10 miles
  • 10K
  • 2.4 mile family fun run

The routes run around the Abbey, with revisions made to make the 10K course easier. The event offers a chance to run on parts of the estate not usually open to the public.

Event Details

The event features a wave start. A one-minute silence is observed at 11am for Remembrance Day. There are strict cut-off times for the 10-mile and half-marathon distances. All finishers receive a medal made from fallen trees from the Bolton Abbey Estate.

Facilities

The race headquarters is in the field opposite Cavendish Pavilions. Facilities include water stations and toilets. The event does not have distance markers, changing facilities, showers, or a baggage store. Free all-day parking is included with entry (normally £15). Entry on the day is not available.
