Run Bolton Abbey 2026
Run Bolton Abbey is a trail running event at Bolton Abbey Estate in North Yorkshire organised by Sue Ryder. The event offers multiple distances on a hilly, single-lap course that uses parts of the estate not usually open to the public. Routes were revised in 2022 and the 10K route is described as considerably easier than before. There are strict cut offs for the 10 mile and half marathon distances. A wooden finisher medal made from fallen trees within the estate will be presented to each finisher. All proceeds from the event go towards the care provided by Sue Ryder.
Distances available include:
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10 miles
- 10K
- 2.4 mile family fun run
The event is limited to 1,200 entries. The course is trail surface, hilly, and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Race headquarters are on the field opposite Cavendish Pavilions. Facilities listed for the event include water and toilets; there are no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers, and no baggage storage. Free parking is provided all day, usually charged at £15. Entry on the day is not available. Entry fees cover race costs and parking and are listed by distance.
