Run Around the Square

Run Around the Square is a community running event held on August 22, 2026, with activities taking place around Regent Square and parts of Frick Park. Race operations and packet pick up are based at the Wilkins School Community Center at 7604 Charleston Avenue. Both races start at the Environmental Charter School near the corner of Henrietta and Milton.

Distances offered:

• 5K: Regent Square streets then Frick Park cross-country trails, finishing in Fern Hollow.
• 1.5 Miles: Course on the streets of Regent Square; dogs and strollers are permitted.

Race policies note that the 5K is a USATF sanctioned event; strollers and dogs are prohibited in the 5K. The 1.5 Mile event allows leashed dogs and requires a registered handler for each dog. Participants are responsible for cleaning up after their animals. Only participants 13 years of age and under are eligible for awards in the 1.5 Mile event and must complete the course without assistance to qualify; toddlers in strollers or those carried by an adult are not eligible for awards.

Registration details include opening on May 1, 2026 and published entry fees of $30 for the 5K and $25 for the 1.5 Mile. Pre race packet pick up is Friday, August 21 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wilkins School Community Center, with additional packet pick up available on race morning starting at 7:00 am.
