Event overview
Run for Wildlife - Africa Alive 5K takes place on 29 August 2026 at Africa Alive zoo in the UK. The event is a 5K run that follows a route through the park with views of animals such as giraffes, lions, antelope, meerkats, lemurs, and African wild dogs. The race includes full-day entry to Africa Alive on race day and a finisher medal.
Practical details
The entry fee for the 5K is £17.50. The event has a maximum capacity of 1,000 runners. The minimum age to enter is 6 years; runners under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Buggy runners and babies in slings are not permitted. Spectator tickets are priced at Adults £10, Children £5, and Under 2s free. Free parking is available. Race numbers are collected on the day and a bag drop is provided. Water stations are available after the race and hot food and drinks can be purchased. Official race T-shirts are offered for sale.
Fundraising and conduct
Fundraising is supported via a GoFundMe page and there is a prize for the top fundraiser. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight the night before the race. The event has a Code of Conduct; allegations of unacceptable behaviour will be investigated by Africa Alive’s Executive Team and outcomes will be advised within 28 days.
