Run 4Kancer - 4k relay race for cancer research
Run 4Kancer is a community relay event held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at École Secondaire Ballenas Secondary in Parksville, BC. The event is in person, open to all ages, and lists free parking.
The relay covers a total distance of 4 km, run as ten 400 m laps. Teams may be formed in any combination or individuals may run solo. Teams divide the distance in 400 m increments as they prefer. Runners pass a physical relay baton at the end of each segment.
Participation has no fixed entry fee and cash donations are encouraged. All profits are donated to cancer research and the event specifies the Cancer Research Society as the beneficiary. No online payment is required; donations are collected on site.
On-site amenities include complimentary protein bars, water stations, fresh bananas and apples, and coffee. The published forecast for the event day notes a cool temperature around 12°C with wind and no rain; participants are advised to use layers or a light windbreaker while warming up and to have extra clothing available in the relay transition area.
