Run 4 Vets 5K
The Pike County American Legion Post 197 organizes a community running event on November 14, 2026 at 23 Society Street, Concord, GA. Proceeds support Post 197's veteran and community programs, including assistance for veterans with physical, mental, emotional, and financial needs and education about veteran affairs and patriotism.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1K Kids Fun Run (ages 9 and under)
The 5K course is on paved roads, marked with signs at all turns, and staffed by volunteers who lead and follow participants. The course is open to traffic, so participants should be aware of moving vehicles. There will be one water station approximately halfway through the course. The event will use a gun start; times will not be chip timed, but a timing crew will record finisher times and race results. Overall and age group awards are planned, with medals for winners. Age group categories include 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus, plus veteran awards.
Family amenities include supervised inflatables for children and post race refreshments. Well trained pets are welcome if leashed and under owner control. The 1K Kids Fun Run is limited to youth ages 9 and under and all participants in that run will receive a prize.
All registrants receive a race T-shirt, race bib, course support, and post race refreshments. A shirt guarantee deadline is Friday, October 30, 2026. Race day packet pick up and registration are available on site before the event and online registration is available through November 12, 2026.
