About the event

This event remembers Tristan Klepzig, who passed away following an accident while running in October 2020. His family celebrates his memory with cinnamon rolls. The inaugural 5k run was launched by his father's company and the Klepzig family.

The net proceeds from this race will be provided to the local chapter of the charity The Compassionate Friends, which supports families after the death of a child.

Distances

The event offers two distances:

  • 5K
  • One mile

Registration and fees

Entry fees vary based on registration date:

  • Until August 31st: $35 for the 5K, $15 for the one mile.
  • September 1st - September 30th: $40 for the 5K, $20 for the one mile.
  • October 1st - October 24th: $45 for the 5K, $20 for the one mile.
  • Race day: $50 for the 5K, $25 for the one mile.

Fees listed on the registration platform may appear higher due to included server fees. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals.

Event schedule

Bib and shirt packets can be picked up at two 1st Place Sports locations on Thursday and Friday before the race. Unclaimed packets are available at the race site starting at 6:30 AM on race day.

The awards ceremony is at 9 AM. A post-race celebration runs from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

Course and location

The race starts and finishes in the Auld & White Constructors parking lot off Southpoint Drive North. Parking is available around the start and finish area.

Post-race

Cinnamon rolls, coffee, and other refreshments are provided for all finishers.
