Run 4 Kidtopia 10K
The Run 4 Kidtopia 10K is an annual event hosted by the Kidtopia Playground Association. It takes place at Grant Town Park on Kidtopia Park Road in Grant, Alabama. The event was originally established in memory of Dan Robinson, who helped form the non-profit organization that built the Kidtopia playground. All proceeds from the 2026 event are dedicated to a playground expansion in memory of Gracie Morris.
The main event is a 10K run/walk. The 5K and 10K courses both start and finish at Grant City Park. They travel through the scenic mountain town of Grant. The course is mostly flat with some inclines, including a section nicknamed "Cardiac Hill" near the end. The 5K course is USTAF certified. For 2026, the 10K is scheduled to start first, followed by the 5K.
A water and first aid station will be located near the halfway point of the 5K route, which is also around mile 3.75 of the 10K. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in both the 5K and 10K races. Age group awards are given in male and female categories. A "Sleep-in Option" is available for those who wish to support the cause without participating in a race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
