Run 4 Kidtopia 5K/10K
The Run 4 Kidtopia, formerly known as the Dan Robinson Memorial Run, is an annual event held in Grant, Alabama. Now in its seventh year, the race is organized by the Kidtopia Playground Association to benefit the local playground at Grant Town Park. Proceeds from this year's event are specifically designated for a park expansion dedicated to the memory of Gracie Morris.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 5K (USTAF certified)
- 10K
- 10K + 5K Combo (15K total)
The course starts and finishes at Grant City Park by the Kidtopia playground. The route travels through the town of Grant and is characterized as mostly flat with some inclines, including a section known as "Cardiac Hill" located near the end of the course. Directional signs and volunteers are positioned along the paths to assist with navigation. A combined water and first aid station is located at the halfway point of the 5K, which serves as the 3.75-mile mark for the 10K.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall finishers in both the 5K and 10K events. Age group awards are also provided across various categories ranging from 14 and under to 60 and over for both male and female divisions. Rehydration and snacks are available for participants before and after the races. A sleep-in option is also available for those who wish to support the cause and receive a shirt without participating in the physical race.
