Rumble in the Jungle 5K Run/Walk/Fun Run
This event is a community 5K run and walk with an accompanying free kids fun run for ages 6 and under. It takes place on August 23, 2026 at POLYTECH High School on Walnut Shade Road in Woodside, DE. Proceeds support the Polytech Cross Country student athletes.

Registration categories and fees listed by the organizer include a standard 5K entry, a competitive walking 5K, a student 5K rate, and a free kids fun run. The listed fees are $39.03 for standard 5K entries and for competitive walking, $28.38 for students, and free for the kids fun run. The competitive walking category requires participants to walk the entire race; running or jogging is not permitted.
Event amenities include race shirts, post-race refreshments, and music. Timing is chip based using the MYLAPS BibTag system provided by R2R Timing. Results are posted online during the event with complete results available after the race. Photos are posted on the organizer's Facebook page following the event.
Awards are given to overall top finishers and masters by gun time, with most age-group awards scored by chip (net) time. Additional awards include top three in ten-year age groups and top walkers.
