Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs
The Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs take place on August 22, 2026, at Wingfield Park in downtown Ruidoso, New Mexico (300 Center Street, altitude about 6,900 feet). The event offers multiple trail distances that start and finish at Wingfield Park and includes a post-event gathering in town.

- Half Marathon Heavy : 13.8 miles
- 8.5 Miler
- 4 Miler
- Kid's Dash : one loop around Wingfield Park
All participants receive a commemorative engraved granite stone coaster finisher medal, a custom soft style shirt, a race bib, and complimentary professional race photos. T-shirt size is guaranteed for those registered by August 13. Post-race showers are available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club. Downshift Brewing provides discounts to participants and hosts an after-party. A Trail Running Film Fest will run in conjunction with the event at Downshift Brewing and features ten films with limited seating and ticketed entry.
Logistics note that the event is a cupless race; refill stations are provided at Wingfield Park and there are on-course filling stations for the longer distances while the 4 mile course has no on-course water. Directional signs mark each intersection. Chip timing is used. Race entries are nontransferable and refunds are not offered.
Proceeds benefit the All Season Adaptive Sports program. Since 2014 the event has been supported by the Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service; over the past eleven years more than $60,000 has been donated to the program.
